Invisible Things

I remember back in grade school when one of my friends held up a blank piece of paper and said it was a picture of a white cow in a blizzard drinking milk. The same blank piece of paper can be used to show the positive things the Mainstream Media (MSM) has said about President Trump.

I asked my neighbor today if she had heard that President Trump had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.  She had not.  I then asked her if she had heard about the normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and between Israel and Bahrain.  She had not.

It’s not surprising.  Because the MSM has been almost completely silent on both of those topics.

Whether or not you believe President Trump deserved to be nominated, and whether or not you believe that peace in the Middle East is a good thing, you should be able to admit that both of those are very newsworthy items.  They should be front-page news stories for weeks.  The agreement between Israel and the UAE was announced in mid-August and quickly disappeared. The peace agreements are going to be signed today (2020.09.15) but there is hardly any mention of it.

Oh sure, the stories are out there, you just have to look for them.  But, in order to look for them, you have to first know that there is something to search for.

Meanwhile, the articles that are front-and-center ask the burning question “Why aren’t there more Black NFL coaches?” and tell about how Chick-fil-A is no longer heading to the San Antonio airport.

And that’s my point.  Why does a story about peace in the Middle East gets less coverage than the number of black coaches in the NFL?  Why is it that the President being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize is less newsworthy than a fast-food restaurant in an airport?

Because the MSM has a bias, and that bias is against the President of the United States.  They’re using the power granted to them by the 1st Amendment to manipulate you. They’re trying to make sure the President doesn’t get reelected.

I think everyone can agree that peace in the Middle East is a huge story and has the potential to sway voters towards supporting the President.  But only if they hear about it.  Unless people are aware of the facts, they can’t use those facts to draw their own conclusions.

By keeping certain facts out of the spotlight, the MSM is manipulating what you think.  By manipulating what you think, they can manipulate what you do. By manipulating what you do, they can further their agenda.

This should scare everyone.

I know many people don’t like President Trump and would be quite pleased to see him voted out of office.  I suspect those people are fine with the MSM using their power to keep him from getting reelected.  Because, the agenda of the MSM just happens to support your agenda.

But what happens when it doesn’t?  What happens when you find yourself on the opposite side of the MSM?  Will you be as content to let them mislead people to support an agenda you don’t believe in? I think not.

Because, when the shoe is on the other foot, you’re not going to be happy with how it fits.
