Back in August, I challenged “friends” who proclaimed to be Democrats to tell me why on earth they would vote for Joe Biden. I asked them to tell me what, specifically, about his policies they believed would make him the best candidate for President of the United States. I sincerely wanted to know.
I did have a few ground rules:
- No Trump bashing.
- No pointing to examples of what Republicans are doing.
- Don’t just post a link or meme, use your own words.
Only one “friend” took the challenge. But his reason for supporting Biden was, essentially, that he wasn’t Donald Trump. I reminded him of rule #1 and he complained about having to follow any rules at all.
In the end, he wasn’t able to articulate any specific platform item Joe Biden had that he found appealing. Because, at the time, Joe Biden didn’t have a platform other than “I’m not Trump”. He still doesn’t. But that doesn’t mean he’s sitting idle. In his first few days in office, he has quickly dismantled many of the programs President Trump put into place to make America great.
Biden supporters are right, Joe Biden is not Donald Trump. He never will be.
Joe Biden is obviously losing his mind and succumbing to the effects of old age. He gets confused easily, can’t speak articulately even when reading from a teleprompter and shuffles instead of walks. There is a video of Joe Biden signing a document after admitting he didn’t know what it was. He’s a puppet with someone else pulling his strings. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump loved our military. He gave them the funding they needed to protect us and worked to bring our troops home. Joe Biden made the soldiers tasked with protecting him sleep in an unheated garage. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump was the first president in modern times NOT to get us involved in a new war. In his first week, Joe Biden has sent troops back into Syria. Though I guess one could argue that Syria isn’t a new war. Either way, American soldiers are going to be put in harm’s way. But hey, at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump believed in letting girls be girls. Joe Biden’s executive order 86 FR 7023 lets boys be girls. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump believed in the First Amendment. Joe Biden’s Democrats are working to censure members of congress who merely wanted to make sure that no illegal votes were counted. They’re talking about “deprogramming” anyone who questions the Left’s agenda. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump worked to reduce the cost of critical, life-saving medicines such as insulin and epi-pens, so that people didn’t have to choose between medicine and food. Joe Biden is making sure that Big Pharma keeps making their astronomical profits.
President Trump believed in protecting our borders. He built a wall to stop illegal immigration from Mexico, banned travel from countries harboring Muslim Extremists and worked to deport those who are here illegally. Joe Biden has once again welcomed Muslim Extremists into our country, stopped the construction of the border wall and halted the deportation of all illegals. He seems to believe that calling them “noncitizen” instead of “illegal” will somehow make us safer. Joe Biden has made America less safe. But at least he’s not Trump.
Joe Biden claimed to have a “Biden Plan” for fighting the virus. He would tell everyone what it is once he was elected. Now we’re told that there is no way to change the trajectory of the virus. His “Biden Plan” was a lie. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump worked to make the United States energy independent. He signed an executive order blocking procurement of energy-related equipment from China. Joe Biden will allow Chinese equipment to be used in our electrical grid. Even worse, Hunter Biden has a long history of ties with Chinese energy companies. The Biden family has been compromised. But at least he’s not Trump.
President Trump disavowed all domestic terrorist groups including the KKK and ANTIFA. Joe Biden doesn’t even admit that ANTIFA exists. To Joe Biden, ANTIFA and unicorns are equally real. Then again, you’d expect that from someone who is slowly losing his mind. But at least he’s not Trump.
The Left is correct. Joe Biden is no Donald Trump. He never will be. President Trump put America first. Joe Biden is actively working to put America at a global disadvantage. Joe Biden is putting first the interests of the people who are pulling his strings.
So, these days when Liberals tell me that at least Joe Biden isn’t Donald Trump, I simply reply, “You’re absolutely right. He sure the hell isn’t.”
