There comes a point where something is so obvious that everyone should be able to see it. As long as they’re paying attention. I think we’ve gotten to that point in Maricopa County, Arizona.
In case you haven’t been paying attention, the Republicans in Arizona are trying to do a forensic audit of the ballots from last November. And the Democrats in Arizona are trying to stop them.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “Can’t we please just stop talking about the election?”. No. We can’t. Because this is important. So pay attention.
Every time the Republican-controlled Arizona Senate makes a move, the Arizona Democrats make a countermove. This has been going on for months. We’re well past the point where what’s really going on should be obvious to everyone. As long as they’re paying attention.
Regardless of what they claim their motives to be, the people in favor of the audit are trying to prove that election fraud occurred. But, the downside for them is that they might end up proving that election fraud didn’t occur at all. Sure, they have a theory of what they’re going to find but they don’t actually know what the results will be. The audit could prove there was election fraud, or it could prove that there wasn’t.
The people demanding for an audit only lose if there was no election fraud. If everyone agrees with the test procedure, and no fraud is found, then they have no other avenues to travel. It’s the end of the road for their crusade.
The way it stands right now, the Republicans can say there might have been fraud, they just can’t prove it. We all know that rumor is oftentimes more dangerous than the truth. If it’s finally proven once and for all that the elections in Arizona were fair, they lose their last and most powerful weapon.
The people in favor of an audit have a lot to lose by performing one. So, unless they already know the results of the audit will prove fraud, they shouldn’t be working so hard to make it happen. They don’t know what the results will show. Not for sure. Yet they continue to push for the truth, regardless of what it may be.
On the other hand, the people working against the audit only lose if there was election fraud. If the integrity of their election was secure, then they win. One could reasonably think that anyone who believes that there was no fraud would be wholeheartedly behind the audit, so the naysayers would finally shut the hell up.
The way it stands right now, the Arizona Democrats can say that there was no fraud, and they don’t have to prove it. We all know that controlling the narrative is more powerful than the truth, and a narrative that actually happens to be true is nearly impossible to attack. But, if the audit proves that there was election fraud, then a lot of people are going to be in seriously hot water.
The anti-audit people have a lot to gain by performing one, but they could also have a lot to lose. If they know an audit will prove the election was fair, they should be demanding one. But, if they know the result will prove that someone cheated, then they should be doing everything they can to stop the audit from happening. And that’s exactly what they’re doing.
To sum this up, there are two groups in play in Arizona. One group working hard to prove they are right, and another group working equally as hard to keep people from proving they were wrong.
If you’re paying attention, it should be obvious that the Democrats already know what the results of an audit will be. And it scares the hell out of them. Someone with nothing to hide simply doesn’t put so much effort into hiding something that they supposedly don’t even have.
Everyone who calls themselves an American should be paying attention to Arizona. We should be demanding that forensic audits occur in Arizona and each of the other disputed states. Because that’s what Americans do. We continue to push for the truth, regardless of what it may be.
