Less Crazy by Comparison

Now you can listen to this article on The PonkaBlog Podcast!

Years ago, before Jimmy Fallon and before Jay Leno, a guy named Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show.  If you’re old enough, you might remember him.  Johnny’s faithful sidekick was Ed McMahon.  They had a shtick where Johnny would ask Ed to make a guess about something.  Ed would make a ridiculous guess and ruin whatever gag Johnny was working on.

For example, Johnny might ask Ed to guess how many clowns he saw walking down the street in Burbank over the weekend.  The real number Johnny saw was something like 40, which is a fairly large number of clowns.  But Ed would guess a really high number like, “27,000”.

Normally, everyone in the audience would have thought that 40 clowns is a lot of clowns.  40 clowns is a lot of clowns.  But Ed’s outlandish guess was much, much higher and distracted the audience from whatever Johnny was going to say next.  No matter what number Johnny said, it would always appear small when compared to Ed’s crazy-high guess.

I’m reminded of this whenever I see Liberals making a grab for our guns.

First, they’ll propose some absolutely insane plan to take guns away from everyone.  For example, Biden might say he’s going to force every gun owner in the United States to register their guns with the U.N. gun registry.  Now, I’d say the likelihood of it actually happening is close to zero.  But, Joe will say he’s going to do it anyway.

So, everyone will get all worked up that the United Nations is going to try to take away our guns.  Then, the Democrats will put into law a much smaller plan, for example, they might impose a nationwide ban on magazines larger than 10 rounds.  And most people will think, “The magazine ban isn’t too bad.  At least they didn’t make us all sign up for the U.N gun registry”.

That’s just one example of how politicians do a bait and switch to get people to quietly accept more government control.  They make it look like they’re going to do something really crazy.  Then, when they do something that is still crazy, just not as crazy, they hope people won’t notice.  And some people don’t.  Some people will be so happy that the government didn’t do the really crazy thing, they don’t complain about the slightly-less-crazy thing the government actually did.

Now, let’s apply this same manipulation technique to Joe and Kamala.

Everyone knows that Joe Biden has lost his mind.  He’s a shell of the man he once was, which wasn’t much of a man to begin with.  But, Crazy Joe is all that’s left.  And his handlers have to work with what they’ve got.

Unfortunately, he’s going downhill fast and it’s getting more and more difficult for the Democrats to pretend that everything’s OK.  Joe has literally outlived his usefulness.  Even Big Media is starting to turn against him and when that finally happens, his goose is cooked.

So, sooner rather than later, Joe has to go.  And that will leave us with Kamala.

But the problem is that Cacklin’ Kamala Harris is bat-shit crazy.  So, to make Kamala more palatable, they need to make Joe appear extra crazy.  Now, it’s not difficult to make Joe appear crazy.  He is crazy.  But they need to make him appear even crazier than Kamala.  And doing that will be difficult.

So, they need to move the needle in both directions at once.  They’ll do that by turning up Joe’s crazy level way past eleven, which will make Kamala appear sane-ish by comparison.  While at the same time, they’ll work to make sure Kamala does less bat-shit crazy things than she typically does.  And, Kamala will start to inch away.

Just look at Afghanistan as an example.  Joe and his team fucked up the surrender…I mean…strategic withdrawal…worse than anyone thought was possible.  But where was Kamala?  Nowhere near Joe, that’s for sure.

As Afghanistan was turning into a shitstorm, Kamala went galivanting off on some southeast Asia junket which was somehow more important than helping American civilians trapped behind enemy lines.  There’s no doubt the timing of her trip was crazy, but not nearly as crazy as Joe giving away a billion dollars of military equipment to a group of cave-dwelling terrorists.  So, by comparison, Kamala is starting to look less crazy than she really is.

Then, this week, Joe said he’s going to force nearly all businesses to coerce their employees to get vacksinated.  This includes all federal employees…except, for some reason, the Postal Workers Union.  Lawsuits have already been filed.  It’s highly unlikely that it will ever happen.  But just saying that he’s going to do it makes Joe look like an even bigger idiot than he probably is.

And where is Kamala?  On the very same day Joe announced his forced vacksination initiative, Kamala, speaking on abortion, said:

“When people are able to make choices without government interference for themselves in terms of their wellbeing and the wellbeing of their family, in consultation with whomever they may choose, we’re a stronger society.”

True, she was talking about abortion, but you can bet this soundbite is going to be played out of context.  And, without the context of abortion, I don’t think there’s anyone who would disagree with what she said.

Over the next couple of months, we’re going to see similar scenarios play out.  Joe will do or say something crazy.  Then, Kamala will do or say something also crazy, but not quite equally as crazy. Then the media will either ignore her entirely or spin the story so she appears less nuts.

Kamala will still be bat-shit crazy. But by comparison she’s going to look more and more like a better option than Joe.

And before long, people will start to think, “Sure, Kamala is a clown, but at least she’s not as big of a clown as Joe.”
